    What is the difference between Hail and Hale?

    Hail means to praise, or call someone. It is a positive word and exudes positive feelings. Enthusiasts hailed the celebrity as his motorcade went through the city square.

    Hale means healthy, as in hale and hearty.
    It is an old style of expression, and yet in vogue.

    As an adjective Hale refers to a person being free from disease or infirmity.
    As Verb used with object, it means compel someone to go, or to haul or pull up. The word originated about a thousand years ago.
    As a noun in Hawai, it refers to simple thatch-roofed hut (ha.le (Hah-ley)

    Hale is a village and electoral ward in the metropolitan borough of Trafford, in Greater Manchester, England.It touches the southeast of Altrincham, about nine miles (14 km) southwest of Manchester city.

    The earliest documented reference to Hale is in the Domesday Book of 1086, but the name of the settlement is probably as old as 7th or 8th century. The area was mostly used for agriculture; Hale grew during the medieval period to the point where Hale Barns was created as a separate settlement. Hale was historically part of Cheshire.
