A liquid crystal display (LCD) is a thin, flat electronic visual display that uses the light modulating properties of liquid crystals (LCs). LCs do not emit light directly. Light-Emitting Diode (LED) are diodes(electronic components that let electricity pass in only one direction) that emit visible light when electricity is applied, much like a light bulb. When many LEDs are side-by-side, they can create pictures. LCD TV

1. LCD televisions use fluorescent CFL lighting.
2. Technology used in LCD sets are generally more energy efficient.

4. Electric current passed through the liquid causes the crystals to align so that light cannot pass through them.
5. Each crystal works like a shutter, either allowing light to pass through or blocking the light.

3. LED’s are good for displaying images because they are relatively small, and they do not burn out.
