  • Difference between Cricket and Baseball

    Baseball vs Cricket

    Cricket and Baseball are two different sports. Both are similar but are played in different geographical locations and have some differences. Following are the Differences between Cricket and Baseball.

    Cricket

    Cricket

    1. Cricket is a bat-and-ball sport played in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Asian Countries and Caribbean Island Countries.
    2. Cricket was invented by British (England).
    3. Each team consists of 11 players.
    4. Cricket game has both batting and fielding or bowling.
    5. Each team has 10 wickets in hand.
    6. At any moment of time only 2 batsmens do batting.
    7. The player who has the ball is called a pitcher.
    8. Batting team tries scores as much as runs possible in the alloted number of overs and Bowling team tries to restrict the number of runs to minimal by taking wickets.
    9. A team wins the game if they score 1 run more than the other team or the team that restricts the other team by scoring the number of runs.
    10. If the Cricket match is tied, The same number of points are awarded to both the teams. This is in case of Test or ODI. In case of T20, a super over is played to decide the winner of the Cricket Match.

    Baseball

    Baseball

    1. Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played mainly in USA. But now played in some countries like Canada, Japan, South America and Caribbean Island Countries.
    2. Baseball was invented by United States of America.
    3. Each team consists of 9 players.
    4. Baseball game has both batting or hitting and fielding or pitching.
    5. Each team has 8 outs in hand.
    6. At any moment of time only 4 bat do batting.
    7. The player who has the ball is called a pitcher.
    8. Batting team tries scores as much as runs possible in the alloted number of overs and Bowling team tries to restrict the number of runs to minimal by taking wickets.
    9. A team wins the game if they score 1 run more than the other team or the team that restricts the other team by scoring the number of runs.
    10. If the Baseball match is tied on same score then extra innings is played to decide the outcome of the baseball match.
